You have a seat at the table here...bring yourself, your struggles, your questions & find your spot.
I have been walking with Jesus for 19 years, married to my best friend for 20, and raising 4 kids for 16. Our kids range in age from 16 down to 10. We live on a 5 acre hobby farm and raise children and chickens. I'm a homemaker, homeschool momma, Bible teacher, part time jail Chaplain to women inmates, author of two books, radio host, retreat speaker, and some other things. I wear many hats and am involved in ministry which necessitates meeting with the Lord daily to gain joy and strength through His Word and Presence. I'm not perfect. I make mistakes as we all do. As the years go on I find that I see my need for Jesus more and more. My personal goal through the years has been and is to know Christ Jesus in every way possible...and to make Him known in these ways as well.
We believe that Jesus is the Christ...the Messiah. He is our redeemer. He has made a way and bought us with a price. We are to no longer live our lives for ourselves, but for Him and for the glory of God. Our goal is to please our Lord, to know Him, and to make Him known to others. We believe that we all have struggles in this life and that these struggles, if submitted to Christ, can help to further us in relationship with Him. The struggle is actually part of the process of growth and needful. All things work together for our good. We believe that the light of Christ shines forth in and through us and that others need to see that light...in the good times as well as the bad. We also believe that we have each as believers in Christ been given the ministry of reconciliation in bringing people onto friendly terms with God. This means that we are to share with women and men who Jesus is and what He has done for us. We are to train up others in Christ with the goal that they also will do the same.
The vision for ministry is to bring practical application of the Word of God to hearts and lives. To prepare believers to follow Christ from a place of full surrender and joy. A place of His power and strength and not our own. That I May Know Him Ministries was brought about to incorporate various ways of encouraging and equipping followers of Christ. We teach what we have been taught...what we know. We desire to acknowledge the reality of life and struggles therein and to allow those struggles to further us in growth in Jesus. The hope is that through resources provided under That I May Know Him Ministries, folks will come to know Jesus, have more desire to know Jesus if they already do, and then encourage others to know Him.
God supernaturally opened the door in 2020 to begin a radio broadcast in Arua, Uganda. We partner with a brother in Christ there, Eric, who does the legwork. The radio broadcast is called, Standing on the Truth. The goal of this broadcast is to share the Gospel, equip believers to practically live out the Bible, and encourage growth in Christ by knowing Him. Per Eric, more than 100 people in the Arua area have come to a saving knowledge of Christ and many have been encouraged through the Lord's ministry in this manner. On our part, we record and send the broadcast, answer questions from listeners, and pray for them. Eric's part is to interact with the radio station, minister to the listeners in person, and help them in their struggles personally. Eric also has a ministry in the local refugee camp which we help to support as God provides the funds to do so.
The radio broadcast is also aired in Wenatchee, WA on a local station called Fearless FM.
I, along with many other dedicated servants of Christ, have been privileged to see Jesus change many of the lives of local women inmates through jail ministry. God has allowed me to serve in outreach service, as a Bible teacher, and now as a Chaplain. The team in the jail teaches God's Word, provides discipleship, performs baptisms, and continues to support the women after they are released. God brings freedom to those in confinement. Many of the women testify that while they were locked up they felt more free than they have ever felt before. The Chaplains run programming, visit inmates, and co-ordinate other volunteers in addition to many other tasks. God is doing a good thing in the jails and prisons of the United States. It has been a personal joy to see God at work in the lives and hearts of these sweet ladies.
Over the last 15 years, God has provided ministry opportunities to speak in various venues. What a joy this has been! The Lord has brought retreats to speak at, women's conferences, interviews, and over the last year local TV Bible teaching on our TBN affiliate. God has given the opportunities, the words, and has met and ministered to individual hearts through the years. It's the Holy Spirit that ministers to the hearts of the hearers in the way that only He can. I cannot...but He surely can...and He does. As I get out of the way...He has room to minister in the way He desires to. When things are done in God's way and at His leading they will yield His results. God has given me a heart to go to the deep places with women. I desire to see believers freed from bondage, encouraged in trial, and rooted deeper in Christ.
